Who are you? Meleka Harris better known as Mimicita or Mimi
Where are you from and where do you live? I am from East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. I currently live in West Hollywood.
What do you do? I am a new mom to my 3 month old baby boy, but before that I worked in retail, marketing, and modeling.
What is your dream creative project? My dream creative project is to have a place for under privileged kids, where they can learn about art and music history. Where they can learn how to express themselves through those mediums, and take their minds off whateverʼs happening in their everyday life. These days, life for kids, especially under privileged ones can be very difficult.
What's your strategy for creative block? When I started learning how to paint I hated everything I did. So Iʼd stop working on it, eventually get bored and go back to it, seeing it differently, I would rework it. So thatʼs how I deal with creative block I leave it alone and come back to it when I feel like I have something more to add or say.
